Israeli blogger meet-up

Last week, I had the fortune to meet another two dozen English-language bloggers in Israel. Here’s my belated wrap-up. The event, hosted by fellow food blogger Sarah Melamed of Foodbridge [1], was the second by this group, and was organized by Miriam Kresh of Israeli Kitchen [2] (another food blog!) and Hannah Katsman of Cooking Manager [3] (cooking for large families) and A Mother in Israel [4] (commentary, politics, life in general).

Since the food bloggers are clearly closest to my heart — during the break, we inspected some weird green vegetable in Sarah’s kitchen — I’ll name them first: Michelle Nordell of Baroness Tapuzina [5], Yael Lee, who writes Apples and Honey [6] (in Finnish), and Dena Lerner of Israel Restaurant Review [7].

Our guest speaker was Jacob Share, who writes the top-ranked job hunt blog JobMob [8] as well as Group Writing Projects [9]. Hannah wrote a summary [10] of Jacob’s tips for bloggers.

Also present were Shira Abel of Tchochkes [11], a design blog; Robin of Around the Island [12], a lovely photography blog; David Nordell of Terror Finance [13]; Blanche Melamed of Blanche and Guy Designs [14]; Harry Rubenstein of The View From Here [15]; Kate of One Tired Ema [16]; Baila Brecher of I’ll Call Baila [17]; Nissan Ratzlav-Katz, who covers the Israeli business culture [18] (in Hebrew); and Scott Piro, with the new-immigrant blog Gefilte Fish Out of Water [19].

More such events are planned in the future. In the meanwhile, these links should keep all y’all busy.
