Thanks Angelo. I don't think it's that the writers don't care about accuracy, I think that in most places, it's just a matter of different perspectives. Maybe they should translate into Italian :-)

After a life of raising children and cooking 3 meals a day I now live alone andcook very plain and simple food, a fried egg, or omelet, Israeli salad with t'china dressing, a cheese and tomato sandwich - stuff like that, and certainly my cookbooks are seldom used at this stage of my life, but I could not resist Jerusalem and splurged on it. Its such a beautiful book and I love the coming together of Ottolenghi and Tamimi as business partners (and I believe, they were at one point romantic partners too). If Israelis and Palestinians were more involved in one another's daily lives like that there might be a better chance of peace in the Middle East. In the meantime, I will try some of those delightful recipes and enjoy that beautiful book.

Wow !!

what a surprise such a magnificent chef and writer ! Yotam Ottolenghi !
I found some of his books translated to Spanish and German , nothing in Italian despite his family name and his father !
I admit my ignorance I discovered a new idol of the masses , lots of Italian have been in London at his Restaurant and bought books, Spanish review as one of the best chef of the world !

I was totally unaware of this Israel with Italian roots so famous !

Liz I understand your notes , I think are typical of the artist that feels he has no boundary nor has to care too much about accuracy !

Really happy to read you ! Happy 2013 !
