Hi Lawrence, silan is date honey. Hope that helps. If you can't find it, you can try experimenting with other sweeteners, or use whole dates and blend them.

I was quite pleased with this version of tahini -- probably because it tastes like so much more than tahini. Nope, never been to Tamara, is it also a vegetarian restaurant?

BTW, I've had this weird ketzah tahini sitting in my pantry, I bought it because it looked interesting but it has a strong flavor and I haven't figured out what to do with it .... maybe I'll try something like this with it, too.

Liz, I love tahini. It is one of my absolute favorite foods. I can't believe you're on the opposite side of the fence. I eat it daily. Out of the jar, even. I find that people who aren't fans can enjoy it if subtly added. It's a great additive to sauces and dressings for hot dishes, salads, etc. I also eat it on ice cream with honey. You get the halva effect. Super amazing. Have you been to Tamara?
